The high-traffic back door entryway was redesigned to fit a larger powder room and an organized, spacious mudroom and laundry room. New French doors complete the area, adding a touch of natural light. Soft wood tones, blues and creams lend a coastal feel. The powder room adds whimsy, with bird-adorned wallpaper and star lanterns to please the younger members of the family. In the laundry room and mudroom, custom cabinetry offers optimal hidden organization.

In the kitchen, a considered new layout offers ease and usability. The ceiling was opened, range was moved, and fridge and freezer were separated. A large island with stools overlooks the great room. Once again, custom cabinetry throughout, each drawer and shelf outfitted to perfectly organize. Cambria quartz countertops and backsplashes offer a refined look while being easy to clean.

Around the corner in the great room, a custom bar nook with black stone and reeded cabinetry is a hub for both game-day beverages and family-friendly drinks. Dark stone contrasts with the updated fireplace, now a fresh limestone surround with stone masonry climbing to the ceiling. A Frame TV rests above, and a custom sectional is an easy movie night hangout. Warm neutral colors help the space feel both serene and comfortable.

In the foyer, a grand welcome: dated columns were removed to make way for an exquisite architectural molding and ceiling treatment. A new staircase and glass chandelier bring modern elegance. The floor was updated to be a focal point, with dark wood herringbone pattern and brass inlay. The adjacent music room is a relaxed conversational space.

In the dining room and main hallway, bookshelves were redesigned and are now home to a selection of beautifully-styled antiques and treasured items, expertly sourced and curated by Dawn and her team. Storage underneath the dining room bookshelves holds China and servingware for gatherings.

The primary suite boasts an updated bathroom, walk-in closet and bedroom. The bath feels open and airy, with porcelain tile, a new vanity space, his-and-hers sinks and a handsome tub. In the bedroom, molding details and a pale grasscloth wallpaper are stately yet soft. The bedding, from BLDC’s in-house line, is peaceful in simple blues and creams that thread throughout the space.
