brookside residence

after linda tackled their living room in 2019, the homeowners at brookside always knew they’d want to renovate their kitchen to match.

Linda began design around two key tenets—reusing what was still usable, and making the space visually complement the living room. All of the kitchen cabinets and most appliances were reused. Old terracotta tiling was removed to make way for new flooring that feels cohesive with the poured cement in the living room.

Custom curved seating nestled around a breakfast table allows for easy gatherings. The new large-scale waterfall island in grey stone set the tone for the overall look of the kitchen. Plentiful counter space pairs with white leather counter stools, the perfect seating for family chats. Fresh light grey subway tile backsplash throughout the kitchen brightens the space, and new hardware on the reused cabinets livens them up.

An adjoining mudroom space was given custom cabinetry for each member of the family to have their own locker—including the beloved family pup. On the opposite side of the room, existing cabinets were painted pale grey to match the new slate grey lockers. Hardware and countertops were changed out for a clean look.
