Each bedroom was meant to double as both a classic guest room and a home-away-from-home for their daughters when visiting. Linda envisioned the bedrooms as simple, calm spaces meant for relaxation, avoiding anything overly personalized or busy. The color palette would be neutral and easy on the eyes.

In the first bedroom, much of the furniture was thoughtfully repurposed from the client’s prior home. Bright orange nightstands were repainted in a charcoal blue-gray, and handles replaced with classic circular pulls. The custom floral window treatments were chosen both for their beauty and their usefulness, allowing for blackout at any time of day if desired. The adjoining bathroom was transformed into a Jack and Jill. Details from the homeowners’ other beloved home were carried over, including floor patterning, shower design and more. While building out the space during the pandemic, Linda made the most of supply chain issues and quickly found hardware and fixtures in a pinch.

The second bedroom features a dramatic bay window overlooking the backyard, to which Linda added cozy details, making it the perfect retreat nook. In working within the small space of the adjacent bathroom, Linda maximized the real estate. By removing a pedestal sink and adding a custom cabinet, she increased storage space without sacrificing mobility.
