When the couple recently retired, they saw their newly found freedom as the perfect time to engage a designer to reimagine their Shaker Heights home to become a place that would reflect their well-lived lives. The vision was a home that complements each of their styles in one fluid space.

Dawn believes a space tells the story of its keepers. With a palette of bright whites and rich darks, she translated the couple’s distinct style of high-contrast personality with a penchant for harmony and culture. The reimagined kitchen combines sleek white cabinetry with a custom-fabricated bar and rosewood dining table—the perfect backdrop for the homeowner’s worldly collections and friendly gatherings.

Trips to Asia inspired how the couple wanted their sleeping quarters to feel. A global array of found art, shoji doors and moody saturated walls define the master suite as a zen-like space. Mixed materials turn their home bath into a rich retreat and create a welcoming place to unwind.
